Welcome to the Data Management Workshop: Identifying Data Priorities for StreamNet and Northwest Habitat Institute

The Data Management Workshop was held on September 20-21, 2006 at the Northwest Power and Conservation Council offices in Portland, Oregon.

The purpose of the workshop was to discuss a data management framework to support adaptive management for the BPA funded Fish and Wildlife Program, and specifically identify StreamNet's role and function within the framework. We also discussed Northwest Habitat Institute's project, Habitat and Biodiversity Information System, in this context.

The workshop included discussing key management questions that needed to be addressed at the basinwide scale and how data can be collected, shared, and presented to address these questions. The data management framework must facilitate regional decision making by the fish and wildlife managers, NPCC members and BPA staff for effective implementation of the Fish and Wildlife Program.

The Final Workshop Summary is available as an Adobe Acrobat pdf or as an MS Word doc file.
