Funding Source Related ID Related Project Title Relationship
[Funding Source left blank] [no entry] future project proposals The NWPCC relies heavily on the prioritization of projects within the subbasin plan in order to make funding decisions.
BPA 199106100 Swanson Lake Wildlife Mitigati Funding for the wildlife area is mitigation for the construction and operation of Cheif Joseph Dam and Grand Coulee Dam. The NWCC relies heavily on subbasin plans to prioritize funding of projects.
BPA 199502800 Assessment of Fishery Improvem The project goal is to restore the failed recreational fishery for pan fish species (black crappie, bluegill and yellow perch) in Moses Lake. The NWPCC's Columbia River Fish and Wildlife Program funded the project as mitigation for the loss of anadromous salmon and recreational angling above Chief Joseph and Grand Coulee Dams. The NWCC relies heavily on subbasin plans to prioritize funding of projects.
BPA 200102800 Banks Lake Fishery Evaluation The project goal is to conduct a limiting factors analysis to determine the cause of the decline of the kokanee and warmwater recreational fisheries in Banks Lake and to make management recommendations. The project is funded as mitigation for the loss of anadromous salmon and recreational angling above Chief Joseph and Grand Coulee Dams. The NWPCC relies heavily on subbasin plans to prioritize funding of projects.
BPA 200103000 Sharp Tailed Grouse Habitat The Sharp Tailed Grouse Habitat Project addresses elements of the Crab Creek Subbasin Plan.
BPA 200205100 Sub Basin Planning The goal of this project is to complete the Crab Creek Subbasin Plan. The NWCC relies heavily on subbasin plans to prioritize funding of projects.
BPA 200600300 Desert Wildlife Area O&M The wildlife area fulfills offsite mitigation requirements due to the construction of hydroelectric facilities. The NWCC relies heavily on subbasin plans to prioritize funding of projects.

Key ISRP Comments The original Crab Creek Subbasin Plan was inadequately funded and had little time to provide the council with a completed subbasin plan. As a result the ISRP made several comments. It should be acknowledged that funding is not available to address all ISRP comments. The project will address key ISRP comments that are within the provided "fix it" budget. Please refer to the narrative for additional detail. Crab [Strategy left blank] [Pg no blank]
Wildlife Assessment The original Crab Creek Subbasin plan had an incomplete wildlife assessment. The wildlife assessment is a critical component in the development of a wildlife management plan. Crab [Strategy left blank] [Pg no blank]
Wildlife Inventory The original Crab Creek Subbasin plan had an incomplete wildlife inventory. The wildlife inventory is a critical component in the development of a wildlife management plan. Crab [Strategy left blank] [Pg no blank]
Wildlife Management Plan The original Crab Creek Subbasin plan had an incomplete wildlife management plan. ESA listed Sharp-tailed Grouse, Sage Grouse, and Pygmy Rabbits will be focal species used in the development of the management plan. The completion of a wildlife management plan is critical to the adoption of the subbasin plan. Crab [Strategy left blank] [Pg no blank]

Independent Scientific Review Panel Final Review (August 31, 2006) [Download full document]

Recommendation: Not fundable
Comments: The problem addressed in this proposal is that of an inadequate subbasin plan. This appears to be a request for funding to write a proposal and is not applicable for ISRP review. Sufficient information was not provided on methods to scientifically justify this proposal. The response by the sponsors does not change the recommendation. The ISRP maintains its preliminary comments and recommendation of "Not fundable."
